Navigating through the insurance coverage process can be difficult and complex. To help you better understand your insurance coverage and payment options, Abbott Nutrition’s PATHWAY PLUS Reimbursement Support Program offers assistance for patients who are recommended Abbott Nutrition products. PATHWAY PLUS is a complimentary, single resource for reimbursement support and patient services. Our PATHWAY PLUS reimbursement counselors provide the following services to both you and your healthcare provider’s office:
- Verify your insurance benefits for all types of insurance after you and your healthcare provider have decided on a treatment plan. This includes private insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, Veterans Affairs/VHA, TRICARE, other state and local insurance. PATHWAY PLUS can research your insurance coverage and share the results with you. PATHWAY PLUS will also tell you if you have any out-of-pocket cost obligations, such as co-insurance, co-pays or deductibles.
- Assist you with the prior authorization process to help you get the appropriate product that your healthcare provider has recommended. Sometimes your healthcare plan must approve your treatment first. This is called a prior authorization. PATHWAY PLUS can tell you if prior authorization is needed and work with your healthcare provider’s office to get the approval you need.
- Provide appeal process research and support by calling the insurance plan to determine if there is an appeals process available in the case of a denied claim or prior authorization. If so, PATHWAY PLUS will explain the next steps with you and work with your healthcare provider’s office to assist in tracking appeals once submitted.
- Assess your eligibility for the Abbott Nutrition Patient Assistance Program.
